Harder for Ronaldo to score in Serie A - Albiol
Experienced Napoli defender Raul Albiol does not believe that new Juventus signing Cristiano Ronaldo will be able to replicate his goal-scoring form in the Italian Serie A.
Ronaldo scored in high volumes at Manchester United and Real Madrid before moving to the Italian champions this Summer, in a move worth over 100 million Euros.
However, the experienced Spanish defender, who played alongside CR7 at Real Madrid before moving to Naples, has warned that the Portugal legend will find things far more difficult in Italy, than he did in England and Spain.
In Spain, Ronaldo managed more goals than games and hit at least 40 goals in every season except his first.
"It'll be difficult for Ronaldo to score 40 goals here in Italy," Albiol told Spanish media yesterday.
The veteran stopper noted that Ronaldo's arrival will boost the prestige of the Italian top flight but does not expect the forward to be as successful given the more tactical approach at Italian clubs.
"It's a different football to the Spanish one. His arrival has been a boon for Serie A though, now there's a lot more interest in our league."
Ronaldo has so far played three Serie A matches for Juventus and despite strong performances, is yet to score.
