Lions roar at Tivoli Gardens

Football under lights returned to the Edward Seaga Complex yesterday for the first time in five years but Tivoli Gardens FC's fans had little to celebrate.

Home team Tivoli Gardens were whipped 3-1 by inform Humble Lion in the Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL) match at the venue. Midfielder Levaughn Williams was the star for the visitors as he scored a brace in the 11th and 50th minutes. Francois Swaby got the other goal for the winners.

Andre Dawson who hit the winner for Tivoli in a 1-0 victory over Portmore United on Sunday, scored the west Kingston club's consolation goal in the 39th minute.

The win lifted Humble Lion to fifth in the RSPL with 12 points from nine games. Tivoli who started the day on top, dropped to second with 16 points, one behind new leaders Mount Pleasant.

In two other games played yesterday, Devon Hodges was on target in the 90th minute as Mount Pleasant clipped Reno 1-0, while Deshane Beckford struck in the 82nd minute to hand Harbour View a 1-0 win over Cavalier.
