Coke, Gordon star as St Mary beat St Ann
Tajay Coke smashed his second century in successive matches and Andel Gordon bagged 6-28 as St. Mary defeated St. Ann by 302 runs in the Jamaica Cricket Association Under 17 Competition at Boscobel Oval, St. Mary last Saturday.
Batting at his customary number three slot, Coke was in awesome form scoring 105, while displaying some exquisite drives and pulls as he stamped his class on the innings.
Coke was ably supported by opener Zandai Williams, who followed up on his 258 in his last match by stroking a fluent 56, while Roshaun Robinson made a patient and well composed 93 as the home team piled on the runs.
Although failing to make his century Robinson was calm and collected, curbing his natural attacking flair, while holding the innings together.
Bowling for St. Ann, R Roswell took 6-62, but it was skipper Ryan Diedrich who troubled the early batsmen on a slow pitch, with his pace and accuracy.
In their turn at the crease, St. Ann found a rampant Gordon - the St. Mary skipper, too hot to handle and only Diedrich, who made 19 offered any real resistance.
Gordon cleaned bowled four of his victims with his pace and accuracy.
Robinson followed up on his half century by taking 3-39.
