St Elizabeth and Manchester teams square off

Jaheim Grant of St Bess FC has scored five goals so far this season.

Leaders St Bess FC were held to a 0-0 draw by Downs in the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF)/National Super League Competition last weekend.

Despite the draw, the St Elizabeth team moved to 26 points, five more than Black Stars, who are on 21 points.

Black Stars, also from the parish, played to a 2-2 draw away to Porus FC from Manchester. Porus remain in seventh position on 14 points.

Holland Police Youth Club scored the round’s most significant victory, a 4-0 beating of Villa United at home. Holland moved up one place to eighth in the 10-team league, which will see the winner playing for a spot in the Premier League next season.

Villa of Manchester remain fourth in the league on 16 points.

Real Treasure Beach FC edged Manchester’s Los Perfectos 2-1 at their home. Los Perfectos are now third in the league on 18 points. Real Treasure Beach moved to sixth with 15 points, the same as Alligator Pond, who beat New Holland 3-0.

New Holland is at the bottom on one point from 11 games.
