KC, Calabar, JC et al raring to go at Penns

TODAY's second and penultimate day of competition at the Penn Relays will see action getting under way among males as Calabar High School will be hoping to defend their three titles won last year, including two in record times.

The first event involving Jamaican teams will be the preliminary round of the High School Championships of America 4x800m relay at 8:30 a.m (Jamaica time). Bellefield High School will be the first to take the track in the first heat. Defending champions and record holders Calabar and Holmwood Technical are drawn together in the next heat at 8:40 a.m. Then 10 minutes later, Jamaica College and Kingston College (KC) will lock horns.

Action in the first round of the Championships of America 4x100m relay will get under way at 11:05 a.m. with Wolmer's Boys' as the first Jamaican team to take the track in the event. They will be followed by defending champions Calabar, Camperdown High School, KC, Munro College, Herbert Morrison Technical and St Jago High School.

There will also be action among the collegiate males with the Men's 4x100m in action at 11:30 a.m. Intercol champions the Mico University College will lead the charge and they will be joined by the GC Foster College of Physical Education and Sport, University of Technology and the University of The West Indies. All three teams will also compete in the 4x200m relay first round at 12:35 p.m.
