I need a woman to talk to from prison

February 03, 2016

Dear pastor,

How are you doing? I hope that all is well. I have been reading your column in THE STAR since 2013 and I love what you have to say in response to people. To me that is the best part of the paper to read. But today I was sitting in my cell wondering if you can help me.

Your section at the bottom says, 'Do you have a problem? Is there something bothering you?' But it never hit me until now.

My problem is my mother. I don't have anyone to write to but my mother. Don't get me wrong. My mother is always assuring me of her love and I thank her every day for it. But it bothers me that I cannot get a female to write to me.

I don't know what has happened in the system. We cannot reach a pen-pal service. We will get into trouble for it. So if you don't mind, Pastor, help me out to the best of your ability by finding a female to correspond with me.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Dear J.T.,

I thank you for your faithfulness in reading THE STAR and in particular my 'Tell Me Pastor' column. You have not said why you are incarcerated. However, you have a great person in your corner and that is your mother. She loves you and she is always in touch with you.

I hope that you will be able to establish good friendship with a female through my column. You have not said much about yourself, but if females contact you, I hope you will speak the truth.

I wish you well.
