Embarassed about my breasts

April 24, 2017

Dear Pastor,

I am 16 years old and I am having a problem. I am so embarrassed about it. My friends have nice breast. My breasts are not so attractive because one is larger than the other. My mother told me that I should not worry about it. My boobs are not very small. My mother buys padded bra so that not many people would observe that one of my breasts is smaller than the other.

I do not have a boyfriend and I am not sexually active. So no guy has ever seen my breasts. I asked my mother if that would affect me when I have a baby and she said no, I would still be able to breastfeed.

I don't undress before other girls because I don't want them to see that one breast is bigger than the other. I know that one of these days a guy will have to see my breasts and if he doesn't see it, he will feel them.

I want this problem to be corrected.

Worried Teenager

Dear Worried Teenager,

If one of your breasts is slightly larger than the other, you need not worry because it is quite common for women to have breasts that are slightly different in size. There is a condition that is called breast asymmetry.

If one of your breasts is considerably larger than the other, then your parents need to take you to see a doctor.

Do not allow yourself to be overly worried about your breast. Believe your mother. She knows what she is saying. The fact that one of your breasts is slightly larger than the other, does not define the type of woman you are. As you grow up, you would learn how to dress yourself and to look just as attractive as the girls who have breasts that are of equal size.

And when the time comes for you to have a man and he has the opportunity to see your breasts, if he is intelligent, it would not worry him at all. Just remember that your condition is common and not something to worry about.
