Ex-boyfriend won't leave me alone

February 28, 2018

Dear Pastor,

I am a 25-year-old woman, and I have a boyfriend who really loves me. We have been together for the past five years. He treats me well. but I have an ex-boyfriend who will not take no for an answer. He cannot understand that the relationship between the both of us is over. He is always calling me, and I have told him that our relationship is dead. He refuses to leave me alone. Whenever he calls, and I don't answer, he finds other ways of communicating with me. He texts me a lot.

Pastor, I don't know what to do. I don't know how to handle him. He is disgusting. What do you suggest that I do? Give me your opinion.

Dear S.B.

You cannot prevent a bird from flying over your head. That would be totally impossible. But you can prevent the bird from making a nest on your head. Your ex-boyfriend is making a fool of himself. You can't stop him from wasting his time loving you, but that is all he would be doing, wasting his time. You don't have to reciprocate. You have already told him that the relationship between the both of you is dead. He continues to harass you by calling. You are doing the right thing by not answering.

Whenever he sends you text messages, don't answer either. He will finally get the message. I wish you and your new boyfriend the very best in life.
