Afraid to plan my life
I am 26 years old. Since I was going to basic school, I can remember this fainting spell that would come over me. I don't know the real reason for that. I've been to so many doctors and have done a lot of tests, but there was no real reason given. It's very scary and sad for me. It makes me feel like not wanting to do anything with my life. It's hard for me to think about my future being alone.
Every time I think of going on my own, I am so afraid. I wonder who would be around to help me if that should happen and I am alone. I am scared that no one will really understand how I feel. It has happened more than 10 times in my life. Sometimes I wonder why this is happening to me out of all the members of my family. Why me? But, I am keeping strong. I've seen a video recently with a boy from May Pen who was neglected because of his attacks (seizure). They abandoned him because of his sickness. There was also a high-school girl who I barely know; she hardly goes to school because of the same illness. It hurts so much because it's not just only me, there are so many children out there like me that are so scared. But in the end, God doesn't give us more than what we can bear.
I really and truly want to know why this is happening to me. Please, help me. Please, hear our cry for the fainters.
I am sorry to hear about these fainting spells that you have experienced. I can understand how concerned you are and why you are scared to plan your life and go on your own, so to speak.
You said that you have been to many doctors and they have not been able to help you. However, I am sure that there are doctors who would be able to refer you to get specialised treatment.
I would suggest that you do some investigation on your own. You may contact your physician and ask him/her to refer you to someone who is trained to deal with persons like you. No medical doctor is going to be upset because you ask him questions and ask to be given references to seek help that he/she might not be able to handle.
You may go on the Internet and read what is written about this illness at Genetic and Rare Diseases (GARD) Information Center. Their website is http://rarediseases.info.nih.gov/GARD/. Have a look also at NIH/National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. Their website is http://www.niaid.nih.gov/.
Thank you for writing. I will be praying or you. Let me know what progress you have made.
