In love with my lecturer

July 29, 2019

Dear Pastor,

I am 18 years old and I read your column every day. I have one more year in college. I feel eager and, at the same time, nervous to go back to college because I am in love with one of my lecturers.

Nobody knows about our secret affair, but when I see him, I can't take my eyes off him. I love him so much.

One day he told me that nothing could happen between us because he has a girlfriend and I am too young for him.

Pastor, I know I would make him happy because his so-called girlfriend is always abroad. I have never gone to his house.

He says that people would see me coming there and talk about it. Pastor, give me your advice. I am not going to leave him.

O.T.

Dear O.T.,

It is not unusual for a young woman to be attracted to a man. But it is not every man who she is attracted who would love her and want to have a relationship with her.

Sometimes one has to remain a secret lover and/or admirer. Right now, that's what you ought to remain; a secret admirer. This man has his woman.

If this man has changed his mind about you, he would tell you. Keep out of his way. If you don't, you could get him and yourself into trouble.
