Want to kick out my common-law husband
I had two children before moving to Portmore, where I met my common-law husband. We have been living together for 17 years, and we're not married.
I am 40 now, and I have three children with this man. However, this relationship has been on and off.
I know that he has cheated on me multiple times with several women, including women I know. There is evidence through text messages and images.
This relationship has been more exhausting and less fun. He can be nice at times but is mostly miserable.
My two older children despise him, and I know the reason. There have been fights among us, including with my oldest child, who obtained injuries protecting me.
I have had enough, but I don't know where to start. My two older children describe me as being 'too soft', and I agree. The house we live in is mine, but he acts as if he is the owner. He also tells people that it is his house because he put plenty of work into it, which is a complete lie.
This relationship is just too unbearable and abusive. Can you please advise me on what to do?
You shouldn't be asking me to tell you what you should do. By now, you should have made up your mind on the best choice to make.
However, since you have suggested that I give guidance, I would encourage you to see a lawyer as soon as possible because to remain with this man is to continue to put your life in danger.
