Girlfriend just wants my money

August 11, 2020

Dear Pastor,

I am a fan of yours, and I am always reading your column. I have something that I want to share with you so that you can give me your advice.

When I was a teenager, I spent most of my life alone, so I learned to do almost everything for myself. I also sent myself to school, both primary and secondary. When I completed school, I started working, and I have been working for the past 15 years.

I had one child when I was younger, and I never had the assistance of anyone. I told myself that I would try my best to prevent my child from having the life I had growing up.

I have been with a few women, but things did not work out. Now, I have been with a woman for almost three years, and it has been the worst relationship that I have had.

We have not gone a month without an argument. For almost two months, we were in the same house and never spoke to each other.

I am the one who makes the most money, so I have to spend the money I make on my child. In addition to that, I have to take care of the house and give this woman money.

I can swear on my son's life that this woman has never offered me a red cent since being together. She never even offered to see whether I would have taken it.

I am always the one to give her money, and if I ever made the mistake and gave her less than she expected, she would be upset.

She knows when I get paid, and so on those days, she calls me and tells me that she is hungry. Out of all the other days, those are the days she decides to tell me that she is hungry.

The only thing she wants is Burger King, and she has never called me one day and asked me if I was hungry. Pastor, I don't know when this woman gets her paycheck or how much she gets.

I have a little car that takes me around, and if something is wrong with it, I have to spend a lot of money to get it fixed. This is the same car that gets her around as well, and she has never given me a contribution towards fixing it.

When it comes to my house, I like to make sure that everything is in order and clean. She has a daughter who lives with us.

She cannot speak to her daughter, and I can't speak to either of them. If I tell her daughter to sweep the yard, she fusses. If I tell her to wash the dishes, she fusses, and she does the same if I tell her to sweep the house.

Anything I tell her to do, she replies in a negative way, but every time she wants something from me, she comes around. Pastor, I am facing hell.

The only way I have sex with this woman is if I give her money. That does not really bother me because I have my 'backup' girls.

She told me that she wants to be with me for the rest of her life, but by her actions, she does not seem to want that at all based on how she has been treating me.

This relationship is based solely on money and what she can get out of me. If I am getting this treatment when I am supporting her, imagine if I was not. Thank you for reading my story, and I hope to get a reply.

Dear D.T.,

I suggest that you end the relationship with this woman. Tell her to leave. But if she does not pack up and go, you should go. She will never make a good wife, so please move on and don't continue to allow her to make a fool of you.
