I think that I’m gay

January 11, 2021

Dear Pastor,

This is the most dreadful time of my life. First, let me introduce myself. I am 15 years old and I am a very intelligent young man. I have found myself attracted to men, so that means I'm gay. I like men as old as 60 years old.

Right now, I'm attracted to another boy. From the first time I went to his house and saw how he behaved, my mind was changed from girls. His sister was having a birthday party and he invited me and I saw him playing with a girl in the pool. When he got out of the shower, I was passing by and looked into his room; he was naked. I got attracted to him; he speaks well. Please help me get over this feeling.

Dear P.,

Let me begin by telling you that at 15 years old, and finding yourself admiring a boy, does not necessarily make you a homosexual. From time to time young people go through a very short period of liking people of their own sex and they are not gay. But if that feeling persists, then they should seek professional help.

If a girl has a liking for another girl, it does not necessarily mean that she is a lesbian. You should ask yourself, therefore, the question; what is it that you like about this boy? You say he speaks well and you saw him in the nude; is it his physique or his private part or what? Do you prefer to be in the company of this young man all the time rather than with girls? If that is the case then I would say you need some professional help.

If you have a good rapport with your mother or father, I think you should take them into your confidence and ask them to help you make an appointment to go and see a counsellor, psychologist or psychiatrist.
