Make the music stronger

THE EDITOR, Madam:

When are the people in Jamaica going to learn that they are doing themselves a grave injustice? It is hard enough to get the backing of mainstream promoters to bring reggae music to the forefront of the entertainment business. It is time that Reggae music took it's rightful place in the industry.

Events are spoiled by the illiterate few and the ignorant artistes who are not aware of their full potential. It is time that artistes and audiences looked at what they are doing, it is time that Reggae music lose the negativity that surrounds it.

I am fed up of going out and listening to nothing but negativity about a music that is world class, and without it we surely would not have some of the top performers that are out there today.

We have to know where we are coming from and where we want to go. As a people there are none stronger, there are none more clever. This needs to be put to positive use. The killing and the war over stupidness has to stop.

I am etc,
