A trophy for Edwin Thomas

THE EDITOR, Madame:

Edwin Thomas, Information Officer at the Ministry of Education Youth and Cultures, died recently leaving a great void in that Ministry.

Lydia Thompson of CVM described Edwin Thomas as 'media-friendly'. To me Edwin Thomas was humble, sincere and hardworking. A combination of 'desired worker qualities' that is missing from many of our public servants.

Edwin Thomas was always 'on top of things'. The public service has not seen many public relations officers of the calibre of Edwin Thomas.

I hope that an award will be given in public relations to the best public relations officer in the government service each year to honour the memory of an outstanding worker: The Edwin Thomas trophy in Public Relations.
