Dear Pastor,
I am a teenager who is currently in love with a guy.
We were dating for two years until recently he moved into a house with his friend, his friend's sister, her husband and kids. His friend's sister started going out and clubbing. Her husband did not like what she was doing, so he left. She did not care because she wanted to be with my boyfriend.
Well, they started messing around and he stopped spending time with me. He called me and told me that he has been messing around with her. At first I said I love him and we have been through a lot, so I should give him another chance. That was not what he had in mind. He broke up with me to be with her. I was devastated for a while because I couldn't believe he would choose someone over me.
I hadn't talked to him for a week until he called and asked if he could talk to me. I said okay and he explained to me how he was stupid and that he made a mistake. He asked for another chance, but I turned him down. This is the first and only thing he has ever done to hurt me. I really love this guy. Do you think I made the right decision?
K.L.,
Dear K.L.,
I suggest that you ask this man to leave the house where he is living if he has not done so as yet, and to assure you that he has ended the sexual relationship he has developed with the woman. There is always room for another chance. Therefore, if you can forgive him and believe that he is speaking the truth, do so.
Pastor.
