Dear Pastor,
I am seeking your advice. I got married and since I left Jamaica my wife and I have broken up. I asked her to give me a divorce. She told me that she will do so.
It is almost three years and I have not heard from her. When I visited Jamaica she told me that she started the divorce proceedings and that she sent the papers to me. I told her that she should send them through a courier service and I will take care of the cost.
She sent me the name of a lady. I called her and she told me she works with the Legal Aid Clinic. I asked my wife to send the papers again, but she has refused. I cannot come to Jamaica now, and I really need my divorce. I would really appreciate your help in this matter.
M.J.,
Dear M.J.,
Your wife has informed you of the person who is handling the matter at the Legal Aid Clinic. Therefore, if you need information you should consult that person at the Legal Aid Clinic. You should not be blaming your wife for any delay in this matter. So, whenever you need information, call the Legal Aid Clinic.
