If Passa Passa were an earthquake it would have hardly registered on the Richter scale. As hard as the Swatch International crew tried, there was hardly any vibes, the dancing had retreated from back to basics.
The good thing about the early runnings was the 'bigging' up of mothers as Maestro saluted them and comically reprimanded those who did not love their moms with "All who no fling stone after mama'. At the same time a market bus filled with produce leaned its way through the throng amidst laughs. Things were brightening up.
Sexy Simone a mother of four who was celebrating her 25th birthday danced away all morning, "Shelly bellying" her ode to motherhood.
Wingy and the Fross Crew from Portmore added their variety to the morning's proceedings with the ladies of the crew modelling their tight white T-shirts 'skinning out in their glory' Hmmm. It was indeed good.
Scene II
At 5 a.m. all hell broke loose. The crowd like the undead fleeing Van Helsing stormed into life and Passa Passa was transformed into an organised chaos of unrestrained partying.
The road which was empty like a stomach was now filled to capacity and the real thing had begun. Belching forth into the laser-like light of the video cameras were Kieva who looked like an adorable angel all dressed in white and Sabiki and his crew which added excitement to the now rampaging mass that calls Passa Passa home.
By this time Maestro fresh from his tour of New York, New Jersey and Ft. Lauderdale was sweating buckets trying to keep pace with the now energised crowd. He not only had to stand the pace but was there to shepherd his sheep from 'outta de road' when the buses and cars and market trucks rolled by.
It was the end of an intense night and the 'Jiggy bad eehing', 'Santa Bouncing' trumpeted the arrival of the morning sun which shone in its brilliance on the now tired bodies and crumpled faces (ouch) of the crowd. Another week, Another Passa, Another scoobay!
