CHUCK FENDER, THE STAR's artiste for May, says that he was destined to be a Rastafarian, and destined to be a star.
The confident deejay said that although he did not know to what extent, since his early days he had a feeling that he would stand out in life.
Talented
"Mi friends always tell me that I had talent and I was supposed to use it, but I never really took it seriously," he explains. "Yu know as a youth, yu do things but yu don't take them seriously."
After hitting the scene with a barrage of gun tunes, Fender suddenly gave it all up and began taking the conscious path. "Some serious things did just start happen in both my private and family life, do mi start to do some meditation," he says. "It's something that just manifested. Fender couldn't be the same Fender as before. I was used as an example for others to follow."
Impact
Since then, Chuck Fender has stated that he wanted all sound systems to throw away his gun tunes as they did nothing good for him. "Mi do that cause the tunes have an impact on the mind. These tunes have an impact on the thinking. If I knew at the time what I know now I wouldn't sing them tune deh, dem no get yu nowhere."
For now, he says, consciousness is what he will dwell on no matter what the consequences.
