Downright despicable

THE EDITOR, Madam:

"Court reduces rapist's sentence" was downright despicable. He should have been made to serve the full 30 years of his sentence. This 42-year-old man has no regard for the well-being of his victims. Why should we be made to feel sorry for him. His lawyer says he was a sick man who lived in a sick society, that is nothing short of 'hogwash'. Now we are to feel sorry for him. I think not. This man is a disgrace to himself and society, and his attorney should be ashamed of himself for appealing for a reduced sentence. The judge should not have granted his request. What about the rights of his victims? Don't they not have feelings also?

I am etc,

MRS. LORAINE STENNETT
