So of the living stars, THE STAR is hunting for the island's top 10 dancehall artiste/lyricists.
We are providing you with a STAR select artiste-lyricists list who we believe should all be in contention to be in the top 10.
We have looked at wit, relevance, depth, 'turn of phrase,' quality of rhyme with meaning, passion, thought provokingness and the truth of the lyrics as some of the driving criteria that developed this list. The list here is in alphabetical order.
In the days to come we will feature classic lines from the artistes on the top select list just to jog your memory on the talent of these artistes.
