Happy Grove look to maintain good form

Western Bureau:

FRESH FROM THEIR first ever win over two-time finalists Titchfield on Saturday, Happy Grove will go after their fourth win in Zone L of the ISSA Pepsi/ Sports Plus daCosta Cup schoolboys football competition tomorrow when they take on Seaforth High in a rescheduled game.

Happy Grove clipped Titchfield 1-0 to end their win streak as Titchfield were seeking to win their sixth straight and third game in the week after beating Happy Grove 2-0 on Tuesday and Yallahs on Thursday.

Seaforth are in second place in Zone L on 12 points, three behind Titchfield.

Ten more games are scheduled to be played tomorrow and teams in two zones will play against each other Tuesday and Thursday as the organisers continue to reschedule games.

Teams in Zones D and L will play each other in back-to-back games while teams in Zone H will have two sets of games Tuesday and Thursday as well.

A number of these teams will also play on Saturday, but George Forbes, competitions coordinator for ISSA, told THE STAR that the glut of matches could not be avoided, as the competition cannot be dragged out too long.

Meanwhile, Annotto Bay could take over the lead in Zone K on goal difference over Brimmer Vale if they can beat Islington by three clear goals tomorrow. Annotto Bay handed zone leaders Brimmer Vale their first loss of the season on Saturday and will be seeking their third win to go along with four drawn games so far.

Zone D leaders Cedric Titus will play away to Aabuthnott Gallimore as they seek to maintain their slender lead over Browns Town who will be away to Marcus Garvey High.

Newcomers Belair will still be seeking their first goal after three games and are one of five schools still to score a goal in the competition. Manchester High, Claude McKay, Kellits and Yallahs are the other schools still to score a goal.
