Spiritually strong

LUCIANO MADE HIS name early in the business as a very spiritual, positive, and conscious singer. Although he started by playing guitar at traditional churches, he later adopted the Rastafarian faith.

This has not stopped the singer from being very spiritual, however. He has been known to break out in prayer at concerts, and to take his Bible out and read while preforming.

"My spiritual strength is in meditation. I try to meditate very often, just clear my mind and meditate," he says. "Mixed with that I do different forms of dancing, I practise some Tai Chi, Yoga, and every little thing for variety."

In the '90s, he put his meditation theory to use, when on two different occasions, he disappeared from the recording and performing scene and went into seclusion. At the time, Luciano told the public that he needed time with himself to be with nature and meditate. Added to this, he needed time to spend with his family.

Mixed with his doses of meditation, the singer maintains his positivity by reading.

"I read a lot, all types of books to elevate my mind and educate me about the world," he says. "You have to do these things to be aware of the world around you, even though I don't get too deep into some of them, cause they want to lead you too far.

"The book I read most though is the Bible. Reading the Bible helps me a lot. I stick with the Bible cause it does not carry me too far into certain realms. It is a book you can use for certain wisdom."

By doing these, Luciano feels that his messages will continue to be positive despite what is happening in the world.
