Dear Pastor,
I was in a relationship for six years and the union produced a son. This man and I worked together, and then he opened a business for himself. I was in charge and everything was alright until I employed a girl. I took her for a friend and told her things I related to no one else. She backstabbed me and told him everything. He has left me and the business is closed. I am left without a job and no support for my baby.
I am still in shock because we were very close and the cruel part is he has not told me why he has gone cold on me. I love him very much but I have come to the realisation that the relationship is over. It is very hard on me because my child thinks that my sister's husband is his father. I cry a lot over the situation. Thank you for your help. God bless you.

Dear J.W.,
You blew it. You did not understand that there are certain things employers are not to discuss with employees, especially matters relating to their love life, family secrets, etc. Whatever you told that girl must have been devastating to your child's father and he considered that he can never trust you again.
What a pity. I am very sorry to hear that he has ended the relationship with you and the business has closed. On the other hand, he should not ignore his child. He should support him and spend quality time with him. I suggest that you try to get a family counselor to talk to him on your behalf.
He may not want to become close to you but his child should never suffer because you might have done something that he considers damaging to him.
Pastor
