Bus driver killed

A BUS DRIVER was shot dead and two passengers injured along Spanish Town Road, St. Andrew, yesterday, police told THE STAR.

The incident occurred as the bus driver stopped to let off passengers along a section of the road, police say.

The dead driver has been identified as Terrence Johnson, 26, of Hunts Bay Lane, Kingston 11, while injured is a 27-year-old woman of Olympic Way and a 20-year-old man of Delacree Park, both in St. Andrew.

Police reported that Johnson, driving a Toyota Hiace minibus, stopped at Oakland Road which is off Spanish Town Road to allow passenger to disembark when passengers when he was pounced upon by a gunman who opened fire hitting him and two other passengers.

They were taken to hospital where Johnson was pronounced dead.
