FIDE MASTER WARREN Elliott and National Masters Shane Matthews, Duane Rowe, Russell Porter and Geoffrey Byfield are all tied at the top of the standings with two points each after three rounds of play in the 2005 LASCO National Chess Championships currently taking place at the Norman Manley Law School.
At the end of play on Saturday, Elliott, Porter and Byfield had registered victories over Deborah Richards, Mark Holness and Equitable Brown respectively. The other three games resulted in draws between Matthews and Jomo Pitterson, Malaku Lorne and Robert Wheeler and Rowe and Peter Myers.
In the four matches played on Sunday, Rowe and Byfield registered wins over Richards and Myers respectively, while Lorne and Matthews and Elliott and Porter drew their games.
Rounds four and five of the National Chess Championships take place Saturday and Sunday at the Norman Manley Law School starting at 1 p.m.
