JACKASS SEY DI worl' no level. Jackass sey no matta ow much ope yu put inna de Wes' Hindies, dem let yu dung bad bad.
When Jackass saw the West Indies team come out for the second innings on Sunday, he knew that the writing was on the wall. Jackass said that if we made 120 it would be a lot.
Lo and behold, the team passed the mark but not by much.
The world is not level at all, because no matter how many times we say we are finished with the West Indies team we keep on going back for more - and they keep on letting us down. And at the same time there are other teams (OK, maybe not West Indian) which are doing well and just not getting the same level of interest.
Hell no!
Check it. The female volleyballers are doing pretty well at the National Indoor Sports Complex, winning matches by wide margins, but are they getting the same level of attention from Jamaicans that the West Indies cricketers, who are losing matches left right and centre, are getting? Hell no!
The footballers won a 'one match' in the U.S., right after Coach Cargill died, and are they getting all the hype and attention that Chris Gayle is getting for making absolutely no runs? Hell no!
Veronica Campbell ran a wicked time in the U.S. and other athletes are doing well. But do we get continuous coverage of their exploits on the track, like how we get lambasted with the supposed achievements of the cricketers? Hell no!
Jackass got shot after shot of Duane Bravo taking that wonderful catch over his shoulder, running from third slip, but cannot see a wicked spike from a volleyballer even once.
The world is not level at all. Loser cricketers get all this coverage and the people who are doing well hardly get a mention on the sports news.
And then it is unlevel within the unlevel. Because of all the cricketers who are getting the coverage, who is getting the most? That B.C. Lara, of course, Mr. Shortitude himself. And why, pray tell, why? For making some runs when he feels like? If the team still loses, how does that help us? Especially when Jackass feels that that little short quarter B.C. Lara is a large part of bringing the team to this stage where it is so weak.
Jackass says that sponsor or no sponsor, it is madness for us to be dealt blow after blow after wayward blow of cricket follies, when so many other sports where the athletes are actually trying are there that can be shown. I mean, how the bray bray can a team be at 12 without loss, you go for a drink and come back, only to see them at 17 for three? Nah man, they are not trying.
And especially after they are quarelling about endorsements and salary and all that.
Jackass sey di worl' no level. Jackass sey bring back de yute dem inna Guyana whe did try out dem heart an gi di South African dem a run fi dem money an dash whe dem bway yah!
