A MAN WHO admitted to "trying a thing" when he tried to export 4.54Kg (10lbs) of ganja to Curacao on Sunday, was remanded in police custody in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
Wesley Harris pleaded guilty to three counts of breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Acts when he appeared in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrates Court and was remanded until May 30 during which time his police records are to be checked.
Harris, 36, was arrested at the Sangster International airport on May 22 when a police sniffer dog was altered to the drugs hidden in his bag.
The court heard that Harris was booked to leave the island on an Air Jamaica flight to Curacao when he was summoned by the police to the luggage chute where a black bag with his name on the tags was opened in his presence.
The police say when the first bag was opened they found a smaller bag that had a false compartment inside of which they found seven packages of compressed ganja.
