A CORPORATE AREA pastor is before the court on rape and indecent assault charges after it was reported that he sexually molested his adopted daughter at their home over a two-year period.
The pastor, who is of a Kingston 20 address, was reported to the police by the complainant earlier this year.
He is before the court on two counts of rape and one count of indecent assault charges. The acts were said to have been committed over a two-year period with the last act reportedly taking place last year.
Court files indicate that between 2002 and 2004, the pastor who presides over a church in the Corporate Area, had sex with the complainant against her consent. He reportedly repeated the act in 2004 and also indecently assaulted her. The complainant reported the matter to the police and following investigations a warrant was issued for his arrest.
He was reportedly taken into custody on Tuesday by his attorney, where he was arrested and charged.
He was brought before the court on the same day where the matter was mentioned. During the mention of the matter, he was granted bail in the sum of $100,000.
The pastor is set to return to the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on July 27 when the matter will again be mentioned.
