TWO MEN WERE shot and injured and an AK 47 assault rifle recovered following a shooting in Rose Town, West Kingston yesterday.

According to police reports, at about 12:15 pm, the police, who were in the Rose Town area, stopped a man and asked for a search. While searching the man, the police were fired upon.

A shoot-out followed between gunmen and police, during which the man ran away leaving behind a tube. When the police went to retrieve the tube, they again came under gunfire.

Eventually the shoot-out ended and the police returned to the Denham Town Police Station where they searched the tube and found an AK-47 Rifle. The police say they have received reports that two persons have turned up at the Kingston Public Hospital suffering from gunshot wounds. The Denham Town Police are investigating.
