DEAR PASTOR,
I am living with my husband. Every night around 10 o'clock, this girl calls the home. Whenever he is on the phone and I go near him, he changes the conversation. When I am near him he starts to say yes ... no ..., yes ...
Please tell me if he has another woman. Every time I ask him, he says I should not bring up the conversation again.
D. W., St. Catherine
Dear D.W.,
Tell your husband that you are annoyed by the frequent calls from this young woman and that he should ask her not to call the house anymore. Surely you are not a fool and you know your husband. The way he responds to the caller has aroused your suspicion. You know that he says yes and no because you are close to him and he is therefore unable to respond to the caller appropriately. By answering yes and no, the caller would get the message that he is unable to speak freely.
Whenever you answer the telephone and this particular caller ask for him, do not allow her to speak to him. Tell her firmly that she should not call your home anymore. If she begins to argue with you, remind her that you have a right to deny her the privilege of speaking to your man at that hour of the night.
