Guns bark in St. Elizabeth

GUN CRIMES IN St. Elizabeth have been on the increase in recent times with the shooting death of three persons and injuring of two others in separate incidents over the past week.

Two men were murdered and another was injured by gunmen last Saturday night at Mitcham District, Goshen.

They are Paul Sherman, 27, of the district and Fitzroy Edwards, 19, from Spanish Town, St. Catherine.

Died on the spot

It was reported that at about 10:00 p.m., a group of men was at a shop playing dominoes when men alighted from a car and opened fire, killing the two men on the spot.

In another incident last week, one of two gunmen was shot dead by a licensed firearm holder at a bar at Park district, Santa Cruz.

Prior to that, on Sunday, July 17, a manager at Crazy Jim, Santa Cruz, was shot and injured in a failed robbery attempt.
