WHEN THE FAME Road Party ended on Saturday night, two things stood out in the minds of the patrons. One was the entertainment from the Fame team and the other was the performance from the Hard Copy models.
The Fame Road Party entitled 'The Hummer' was held at the Windalco Sports Club in Ewarton, St. Catherine.
The promoters definitely had something in mind when they branded the party with the name of the big SUV, as, when THE STAR team entered the venue about 11:30 p.m., the patrons were already entering at a steady pace.
Musical entertainer
Cars and bikes moved slowly along the main road as they neared the venue. Inside, the crowd was huge and growing by the second. But, there was little to suggest they would be bored as Arif Cooper and Kurt Riley allowed the music to do the entertaining.
At 12:40 a.m., the tempo slowed as François St. Juste invited the crowd to draw closer. But, the drop in momentum did not last long as the Fame team provided their own entertainment as the fans cheered with much gusto.
Simone Clarke, Diedre and the rest of the Fame crew did the latest dance moves and showed that Fame hosts could not just throw a party, they could enjoy one.
After that live dance session, it was back to the music. Patrons danced en masse as music from the 1980s to present day 'brought the house down.'
For those who were not in the mood to dance, the bar became the favourite spot to hang out. The bucket deals on certain types of alcoholic beverages were a favourite and soon the tell-tale signs of buckets littering the Ewarton playing field became obvious.
The ladies posed continuously for the cameras while their male counterparts leered from a distance.
The high point of the morning was the introduction of the Hard Copy models at 3:00 a.m. They caused quite a stir with their seductive dance moves as the men drew close to the barriers to catch a glimpse of what the models were showing.
All in all, it was a well-enjoyed night where several persons said that although more persons attended last year, this year was no less exciting.
"Bwoy dem people ya certain know how fi strike up the party and dat's why mi come every year," remarked Yvonne Minott as she danced up a storm.
Unfortunately, all parties have an end. And so, THE STAR left when most of the patrons were leaving the venue.
