TROY FISHER CHOSE the comfort of Harman Barracks over his own home when he refused bail for an offensive weapon charge.
Fisher served only five days of a usual 10-day sentence or $1,000 fine after he failed to take up his bail offer.
Reports are that on Friday, August 5, the Harman Barracks police were patrolling North Parade when they saw Fisher, a handcart driver. He was searched and a knife found. He was later charged with unlawful possession of an offensive weapon.
When Fisher appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court last Wednesday, Resident Magistrate Martin Gayle said he had served enough.
He was then admonished and discharged.
