TALLINN, ESTONIA, CMC

JAMAICA'S AINSLEY Waugh and Davian Clarke secured wins at the Tallinn 2005' EAA permit meeting on Tuesday night.

Waugh captured the 100 metres title in 10.22 seconds, continuing the form he showed in the early rounds of the just concluded World championships when he lowered his personal best to 10.16 seconds.

Waugh returned in the 200 metres to claim silver in 20.77 seconds just outside his season's best 20.74 seconds set last month in Meilen, Switzerland.

In the 400 metres, Clarke, who anchored the Jamaica mile relay team to bronze in the Finnish capital, outclassed the field to the line in 45.27 seconds ahead of his teammate Sanjay Ayre (45.72).

Jamaican national champion Shericka Williams claimed the runner-up spot in the women's quarter mile in 51.73 seconds behind Russian Olesia Zykina (51.32).

Bronze medal for Haiti

Haiti's Nadine Faustin registered a bronze medal finish in the women's sprint hurdles in 12.97 seconds behind Poland's Aurelia Trywianska (12.87).

Meanwhile, Russian mile relay world champion Svetlana Pospelova captured the sprint double, taking the 100 metres in 11.32 seconds ahead of American Muna Lee (11.43).

Pospelova, better known as a quarter-miler, completed the double in the 200 metres, clocking 22.87 seconds.
