ROSEMARIE WHYTE, THE former Chief Financial Controller at Paymasters, has been sued and is now before the Sutton Street RM Court.
Whyte, from Forrest Hills, St. Andrew, is being sued by Norma Cooper who accuses her of owing more than $60,000.
Court documents filed by Cooper allege that on February 12, 2005, Cooper entered into an agreement to sell beauty supplies to Whyte for the agreed sum of $74,374.46, to be paid on or about March 31, 2005.
The court documents indicate that since the agreement, the defendant has refused to pay the sum and has used most of the supplies. The cost of the supplies used is $62,155.20 and Cooper is claiming payment of this sum.
The documents further indicate that repeated requests and demands made by Cooper to Whyte failed as she has refused and/or neglected to settle the sum.
Whyte has told the court that the supplies were part of a business she bought from Cooper but she had to pay an outstanding electricity bill on the business. As a result she contends that she does not owe Cooper any money.
Whyte worked with Paymaster, a bill paying company, for about three years, but was fired recently for non-performance. Whyte is scheduled to reappear in the court on October 18, 2005 when the matter will be tried.
