BAHAMIAN CHRISTINE AMERTIL and Jamaicans Maurice Wignall and Chris Williams registered top three finishes at the Yokohama Super Track and field meet on Monday night.
Amertil finished second in the 400 metres, while Wignall also finished in the runner-up spot in the 100 metres hurdles. The in-form Williams chased American double crown champion Justin Gatlin to the line in the 100 metres to be third in that event.
American Dee Dee Trotter raced to victory in the quarter mile in 50.03 seconds outpacing Amertil whose 50.09 seconds clocking logs as her fastest time this season.
In the sprint hurdles, Wignall clocked 13.46 seconds finishing behind Chinese star Lui Xiang (13.08) who added the title to his Shanghai victory on Saturday.
Williams was unable to end Gatlin's impressive winning streak in the 100 metres this season when he settled for third in 10.13 seconds, the same time as Nigeria's Olusoji Fasuba who was second.
Gatlin was again impressive en route to victory in 10.04 seconds, adding to his Shanghai win in 10.01 seconds.
One highlight at the meeting was American 200 metres world champion Allyson Felix's victory in the 100 metres as she blazed to a season's best 11.05 seconds, edging American national champion Me'Lisa Barber (11.08) to the tape.
