Traveller held with marijuana

A 22-YEAR-OLD British citizen appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's court on Tuesday after 14 kilograms (26 pounds) of ganja was found in a false compartment in his suitcase.

It is alleged that on September 18, Simeon Forbes, the accused, checked in on a flight to Curacao and was on his way to Amsterdam, Holland when his suitcase was searched.

A false compartment was found. When it was dismantled vegetable matter resembling ganja was found inside it.

The police were, however, awaiting the forensic certificate and so the case was set to be mentioned again on October 11. The accused was ordered remanded in custody until the next mention date.
