THE 2005 NORMAN Goodison Inter-Bank Football League Competition continued last Sunday with FCIB beating RBTT 2-0, NCB and JNBS playing to 3-3 draw and defending champion BNS clipping BOJ 2-1.
In the curtain-raiser at the NWC playing field, last year's beaten finalists NCB and JNBS played to an exciting 3-3 tie, with NCB's Anthony Leslie getting a brace in the first and 81st minutes, while Christopher Wisdom got the other goal for NCB in the 67th minute.
Demar Edwards (11th), David Mullings (62nd) and Omar Whitely in the 91st minute scored for JNBS and ensured that the points were shared.
In the bottom of the table clash, unfancied FCIB defeated RBTT with Oshane Ford (71st) and Dwayne Lawrence (80th) scored both goals against the run of play. RBTT got over a dozen easy scoring opportunities but their forwards missed most of them.
Over at the Men's Hockey Field, BNS continued with their defence by clipping BOJ 2-1 in a close contest. Paul Alexander gave BNS the lead when his thunderous free kick from 35 yards beat goalkeeper Paul Allen. BOJ drew level in the 65th minute when Stephan Wisdom beat goal keeper Antar Freeman to his right, but BNS got the winning goal in the 75th minute from Scott O'Brian to move to the top of the points standing.
The competition continues with three matches on Sunday with BNS meeting FCIB at 2:00 p.m., and RBTT playing NCB at the NWC playing field, Mona, starting at 4:00 p.m. In the day's third match BOJ oppose JNBS at 3:00 p.m. at the Men's Hockey Field, Mona.
