THE KINGSTON CENTRAL police say they are following strong leads in relation to Sunday's triple murder on Hanover Street in downtown, Kingston.
On Sunday, 42-year-old Rosemarie Lyttle, Oshane Walker, 18 and 10-year-old Rodane Powell were shot and killed after gunmen went into the tenement yard where they lived and kicked open the door to their home.
The police report that the three were at home at approximately 5:00 a.m. when a group of men entered the house. The gunmen reportedly fired shots hitting all three. Lyttle and Walker died on the spot while Powell died on the way to the Kingston Public Hospital.
When contacted, the Kingston Central police, who are investigating, said based on investigations so far, they believe the family may have been killed as a result of a reprisal. They said Walker and a man were involved in a dispute days before and that may have resulted in the death of all three persons.
The police said they were pursuing this angle as well as other leads and were expecting to make an arrest soon.
