Buju's trial continues

Buju Banton - FILE

ENTERTAINER MARK 'Buju Banton' Myrie, who is charged with assault, will return to the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on November 2 when his trial will continue.

Myrie is charged alongside Horace Hill. Both men are before the courts on charges of assault arising out of an incident on June 24 last year during which it is alleged that a group of men were beaten after they were accused of being homosexuals.

When the matter was mentioned before Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey, Myrie's attorney requested that a new date be set for the trial to continue. RM Pusey agreed and a November 2 date was agreed on. Both men had their bails extended and the witnesses were subpoenaed for the next trial date.

Allegations against Myrie and Hill are that on the day in question, they barged into a house on Carlisle Avenue in the Kingston 8 area and allegedly beat six men.
