Man held with illegal firearm

SPANISH TOWN

NINETEEN YEAR-OLD Andre Williams of Gordon Pen, St. Catherine, has been charged with illegal possession of firearm by the Spanish Town police.

SUSPICIOUS

Reports are that on Tuesday, October 25, about 4:00 p.m., a police party was on patrol in Spanish Town, St. Catherine, when on reaching Gordon Boulevard, near a tyre shop, Williams was seen acting in a suspicious manner.

He was accosted and searched and a semi automatic .38 with one live round taken from his pants back pocket.

He was charged by Constable Kirk McLeod with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition and is booked to appear in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday, November 1.
