BOSS FURNITURE LAUNCHED its new line of bedding recently. The new Boss bedding collection comprises three different beds, namely Peace, Harmony and Tranquility. The line is now available at Courts stores.
This represents an expansion of Boss' line of furniture products in the market place. This also supports Boss' thrust under the Buy Jamaican campaign being championed by the Jamaica Manufacturers Association.
Boss Furniture is a relatively new manufacturing entity, having begun operations in 1990. The vision then was to improve the quality of the products being produced by local upholstering industry. Production started with the manufacturing of living room suites. Business grew as many companies, small and large, joined a growing list of buyers. By 1994/5 manufacturing of bedding began.
Today, 75 per cent of the soft upholstered furniture and bedding produced is done for Courts. The rest is exported to the Caribbean and supplied to local retailers.
Boss began with nine workers. That number has grown to over 165 persons, and this is expected to increase further in 2006.
Rewards for consistency of quality, total customer satisfaction and human resource development have paid off by being awarded the 'Courts Top Furniture Manufacturer' award for 2002 & 2003 and the world and renowned Simmons Licensee Contract in 2003.
Earlier this year, Director of Sales and Marketing, Omar Azan, was nominated for the 'Observer Entrepreneur of the Year award.
The company's goal for the future is to maintain and service our existing business partners with the highest quality and service while expanding our export market beyond the Caribbean Community.
Developing a strong working relationship with the hotel industry is also a major factor.
As a caring corporate entity, Boss has been active in the community by assisting approximately 400 children by paying their school fees and purchasing books.
Boss is a totally Jamaican manufacturing company that is here to stay.
