POPULAR ENTERTAINER MARK 'Buju Banton' Myrie will have to wait until January 19, 2006, to have the case against him tried in the Corporate Area Magistrate's Court.
The case was scheduled to be heard yesterday but was postponed because of the absence of the presiding resident magistrate.
Myrie, who is facing charges of assault, is being charged jointly with Horace Hill. The charges arose out of an incident in June of last year where a group of men were beaten because they were suspected of being homosexuals.
It is alleged that Myrie and Hill on the day in question, forced their way into a house on Carlyle Avenue, Kingston 8, and beat six men.
Yesterday, the bails of the accused men were extended and the witnesses were subpoenaed for the next trial date.
