Holy Family's Brown, Half-Way Tree's White on fire in Primary football

PATRICK BROWN OF Holy Family and Romar White of Half-Way Tree highlighted last week's CB Chicken/INSPORTS Kingston and St. Andrew Primary Schools football competition, scoring five goals each.

Brown of defending champions Holy Family netted in the 12th, 22nd, 30th, 34th and 43rd minutes in his team's 11-0 thrashing of St. Andrew at Breezy Castle playfield.

The other scorers for Holy Family were Jamal Brown Panton who scored a hat-trick getting wickets in the 50th, 51st and 60th minutes while the other scorers were Kareem Manning in the 4th and 38th minutes and Akeem Hall in the sixth minute.

Meanwhile, White's five goals led Half-Way-Tree to a 10-0 drubbing of St. Michael's at Maverly playfield. He scored in the 6th, 15th, 28th, 49th and 57th minutes as Half-Way-Tree led 4-0 at half time.

Other scorers for Half-Way-Tree were Kennardo Clahar in the 46th and 60th minutes, substitute Gavin Phillips in the 27th, Romario Richards in the 30th and substitute Shamar Pryce in the 51st minute.

Shannakaye Douglas scored in the 60th minute to earn Maxfield Park a 1-1 draw with Alpha for whom Picquenio Williams gave them an 11th minute lead at half time.

On Tuesday, Jones Town, who were beaten in the knockout final by Holy Family last season, trounced Grove 9-0 with four goals coming from the boots of Ramrio Jones who scored in the 11th, 20th, 30th and 33rd minutes while Tevin Johnson netted twice in the fifth and 57th minutes, Raffique Bryan in the 17th and 46th minutes with Trudy Carter finding the back of the net in the 15th minute completed the rout.

Harbour View clipped George Headley 2-1 with goals from Jahfyhe Hines and Stephano Palmer in the 26th and 34th minutes respectively while Donald Tomlinson scored for the losers in the 55th minute.

Former Jamaica national coach and player Frank Brown saw his team Duhaney Park beaten 4-0 by Excelsior at Caxton Park. Excelsior are coached by Devon Honeywell.

After three rounds, defending champions Holy Family, along with Balmagie, Half-Way -Tree, Clan Carthy, Jones Town, St. Aloysius and Franklin Town are leaders in their respective zones.

The competition continues on Tuesday, November 14 and Thursday, November 17 with double-header matches at Caxton Park, Tinson Pen Sports Complex, Maverly, Jessie Ripoll, starting at 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. respectively.
