ARDENNE 'A' TROUNCED Campion 'B' (4-0) in the feature Zone 2a match on Friday to register their third consecutive 4-0 sweep from as many starts, in the 2005/2006 LASCO/RBTT National Schools Chess Championships.
In other matches in Zone 2a, Calabar 'A' and Meadowbrook 'B' both registered 4-0 victories over Immaculate and Merl Grove respectively.
In Zone 2b, Campion 'A' were less than convincing in getting past Ardenne 'B' 3-1, while Calabar 'B' and Queens dismissed Campion 'C' and Meadowbrook 'A' respectively by a similar 3.5-0.5 score.
On Thursday, Zone 1a's play saw Charlie Smith earning a shock 2.5-1.5 victory over Zone favourites Camperdown. In other Zone 1a matches, KC 'A' and St. George's College 'A' had similar 4-0 victories over Wolmer's Boys 'B' and Vauxhall.
In Zone 1b, Wolmer's Boys 'A' defeated KC 'B' 4-0, while Camperdown 'B' held Wolmer's Girls 2-2.
