A MOTHER, BROTHER and stepfather are in lock-up after a 14-year-old relative was sexually molested, THE STAR understands.
The accused men, a 19-year-old unemployed youth and a 39-year-old, all of Kingston 8 addresses, were arrested and charged in November for carnal abuse after the child's teacher reported the matter to the police.
The mother, 28, was arrested and charged with accessory after the fact, after it is alleged she told the complainant to lie about the alleged molestation incidents.
Allegations are that in February 2003, the complainant, who was 12 at the time, was taken by her mother, to the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA).
It is reported that the accused told the police that her daughter was sexually assaulted by a masked man which resulted in her becoming pregnant.
It is reported that the complainant gave birth to a baby girl in November of that year and the baby was taken to a law office in downtown, Kingston, where it was handed over to an attorney without any documents being signed. The police further report that to date they have found no evidence that the baby was ever visited.
'HICKEY'
On November 23 of this year, the complainant reportedly went to school where her class teacher noticed a 'hickey' on her neck. It is alleged that the complainant was questioned by her teacher and she claimed that she had been sexually molested by her stepfather.
The teacher reportedly took the child to the CISOCA where the complainant confessed that her statement in 2003 was incorrect.
She reportedly told the investigating officer that she had been told to make that statement after she had been allegedly molested by her brother, which resulted in her becoming pregnant.
Further investigations led to the arrest of the child's mother. Later, the child's brother and stepfather were called to come in to the centre where they were charged.
They were given $200,000 bail when they appeared in court on December 2, and are booked to appear in court again today.
