SIX PERSONS WERE killed and two others injured in an accident along the Gutters main road in St. Elizabeth on Saturday night.
The dead have been identified as Clifton Bowen, Kenny Beadle, 30, Kiplin Bent,16, Ribton Gayle, 26, Carlos Smellie and Arthur Ricketts, 21, while injured are Kadian Grant, 21 and Steve Baker, 38.
Police reports are that at about 11:40 p.m., Bowen was driving a Leyland truck registered 3380EY along the Gutters main road with the other persons aboard.
On reaching a section of the road the truck reportedly developed mechanical problems and the driver lost control of the vehicle which then hit an embankment and overturned.
Five of the occupants were killed instantly while the others who sustained multiple injuries were taken to the Mandeville Hospital where they were admitted in serious condition.
