Father and daughter before court for cursing

FAILING TO CONTROL their tempers have landed George Ingram and his daughter, Camille, before the court and has left Mr. Ingram with a $275,000 fine. Both were charged with disorderly conduct, assault at common law and using abusive language, after an incident at the Norman Manley International Airport.

Allegations say about 6:30 p.m. on November 20, representatives from Air Jamaica radioed for help at gate number 2. An air hostess was seen standing with Camille and told the police that she had behaved badly on board.

According to the hostess, Ingram became rowdy when her demand for more juice was not met. She allegedly started shouting, cursing and throwing oranges on board. She was asked to tone down but refused and began shouting expletives. It is also reported that she pointed in an officer's face and pushed away his hands when he attempted to lead her to the station. When asked to apologise she reportedly said, "mi naw f.......g apologise a bl......t." She was taken to the immigration office where she was processed and charged.

George Ingram. upon hearing of his daughter's arrest, reportedly approached an officer and demanded to be told why she was being arrested. He allegedly began shouting expletives and refused to be arrested.

When he appeared before RM Sarah Thompson-James on Thursday, Ingram told the court he was overcome with emotions as he came to the island to bury his aunt and was angered by the fact that his daughter was arrested.

He was admonished and discharged of the abusive language charge but was fined $250,000 or six months in prison for assault and $25,000 or six months for disorderly conduct. Camille Ingram did not appear in court.
