FAME rocks Portmore

THE FAME ROAD Party gave Portmore residents the time of their lives on Saturday night.

Held at the Caymanas Park, Portmore, the venue was almost filled to capacity. The party, which was dubbed 'Hardcore' was the final Fame party for the year and it was obvious that the organisers had pulled out all the stops by providing great entertainment.

There were impressive mixes by the Fame disc-jocks, there was a fashion show and surprise performances by a number of artistes.

At one stage, dancers, Keiva and Mad Michelle, hit the stage showcasing the latest dance moves. Later on came a segment that the men found particularly entertaining: the fashion show. The Hardcopy models strutted their stuff in Minka designs and Hardcopy dancehall fashion.

Then it was back to the music mixing. But patrons didn't have to wait long for more entertainment, because soon the announcement was made that there would be performances from artistes, including Macka Diamond, Voicemail and Nanko.

Although the performances were brief, it was obvious that the audience was less impressed by some performances.

Voicemail got the party started with their current hit, Just Dance and a few others. Ghandi also got lots of support from the fans, that is, until he told the selector to "pull up" three times. It was the same with Nanko, and unluckily for him, he only had one song Lucky You to pull up three times. The fans soon got tired of hearing the first few lines so many times and loudly ushered him off stage.

But it was Macka Diamond who sent the crowd into a frenzy. She didn't waste any time and cut to the chase with comments about Predator and his remarks in his recent song Ugly. "Some deejay woulddah want drive me over wid dem Lexus," she said.

Then Kiprich came on and performed some of his songs, but not before giving the crowd a message to take back to Lady G: "If road the roost did clean, the cock wouldn't stray." And of course, he got, thunderous applause from the crowd.

There were also performances by Bling Dawg aka Ricky Rudie, Shane-O, Aidonia, Mr. Lex and Mr. Vegas, which the crowd loved.

After the performances, a disc-jock announced that the real 'hardcore' section of the party was about to start. At 3:00 a.m., not many could imagine the party getting better after all that, but it did.

It was definitely value for money and anyone who missed Fame's Road party, probably missed the party of the year.
